The Melton Olympic Cycling Club

Was formed in the Olympic year of 1980 and is based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. We cater for many forms of cycling and riders from all walks of life are welcome to join us in sporting and recreational cycling.

Our regular Sunday ride is a great way to get to know us, and find out if you will enjoy riding with us – we hope you will. Rides are usually 3-4 hours, with a cafe stop en-route for those who like to stop. We ask that new riders unfamiliar with us join the steady group on their first week, moving on to the intermediate and fast groups as appropriate. Please contact us or come down to Mill Street Car Park ready to ride for 9am on a Sunday morning.

Details of all activities are available here on the website. Please note that our facebook page is a members-only platform. We use it for updates, reminders and questions from members about upcoming rides. Once you have met us and decided that you’d like to ride with us regularly, members gain access to the page.

On summer evenings we run a series of time-trial events, (mainly 10-mile) open to members and non-members. These are a great opportunity to challenge yourself over a shorter distance, and to see your hard work improve your times.

In winter, we have midweek turbo-training and Saturday chain-gang sessions for those who like to keep at it all year round. Both are led by experienced coaches who will give you good advice to improve your cycling.
