Crits and Road Races

MOCC's crit, Leicester Circuit 28th July

    EMRRL Wymondham Road Race Cat3/4

  • DNF'd 4/5 laps completed, but had dropped too far back.

Other Notable Rides

Emma Gardener - Outlaw Full distance triathlon 28th July, bike leg only, 112 miles. Relay team 5th Overall, swim cancelled. Did the 112 miles instead to get some miles on the TT bike ahead of the next event.

Emma Gardener - Full iron man, in Sweden??? 17th Aug, 2.4mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a full marathon! 1800 competitors, 109/340 out of the female competitors. 1st Full Iron Man, only aim was to finish.

Sally Keightley and Rachel Chapman - Charity ride 'if Alice can anyone can', Old Dalby to Sheringham, 24th Aug, 125 miles in 9.5 hours. The weather was appalling with torrential rain, and winds for the whole ride. Rachel had a mechanical and had to swap bikes to a much much bigger one.

Virtual:

Zwift racing is category based:

·         Cat E is open, there are no power limits you are competing against anyone that wants to race.

·         Cat D is up to about 2.6W/Kg, it varies a little by race organiser, but you are competing against people of a similar power level, obviously weight impacts climbs and descents, but you need to learn to use what you’ve got to work with.

·         Cat C is up to about 3.4W/Kg.

·         Cat B is up to about 4.0W/Kg.

·         We won’t talk about the lofty heights of Cat A, yet.

I'm expecting that as the nights draw in and it cools down Zwift racing will restart, it's great training, i'm aiming for a short race a week.
