May's Race Results


There’ll be two sections to these reports, Physical races and Virtual races, first off in the real world:

Time Trials:

MOCC Open 25mile TT - 25th May. Many thanks to Russ Gent for Organising it!

  • Will Blythe - 1:00:59, 2min 13s off a PB

  • Charlotte Dadd - 1:01:52 - 3rd placed female

  • Dan Farnsworth - 1:03:31

  • Mick Stevens - 58:45 - 2nd placed Veteran based on Age Adjusted Times.

  • Martin Fisher - 53:55


Crits and Road Races

Ashby Ivanhoe Crit - Leicester Circuit 4th May.

  • Will Blythe - 16th

  • Chris Booth - Had a bit of nightmare, somewhere in the bunch

MOCC Summer Crit Series Round 1 26th May.

  • Will Blythe - 7th which is his best finish position so far

  • Chris Booth - position unknown


MTB Races

FNSS MOCC's round - Country Park 24th May.

  • Jamie Haines - 11th


Other Notable Rides

Emma Gardener - Ride london, 100miles, 5hr 42min, averaging around 17.5mph for 100miles.

 

Virtual:

Zwift racing is category based:

·         Cat E is open, there are no power limits you are competing against anyone that wants to race.

·         Cat D is up to about 2.6W/Kg, it varies a little by race organiser, but you are competing against people of a similar power level, obviously weight impacts climbs and descents, but you need to learn to use what you’ve got to work with.

·         Cat C is up to about 3.4W/Kg.

·         Cat B is up to about 4.0W/Kg.

·         We won’t talk about the lofty heights of Cat A, yet.

Just the one race this month, not surprising as unless you are have aircon it's tricky to keep cool enough (not saying you have Monty).
